Has anybody heard that cast iron cookware is a "NONO" on ceramic/glass cook-top stoves?...?
...I believe other than thescratching possibility, the pans get too hot for those type of stoves and eventually can ruin the burners by 'burning them out'. Do you agree with this?I had read a while back that cast iron wasn't ok to use, but now I can't seem to find that.My fiance loves cast iron so I need to find out if he can use that. He won't use the hard anodized or Teflon types. Can you use glass cookware on this type of stove? Can those reversible griddles be used on this type of stove? Such as the ones from Lodge.Thank you for answering
How to season/clean cast iron cookware?
I grew up with my grandmothers old cast iron skillets and have envied my mothers since I moved out of the house. I bought a preseasoned one today and I'm not quite sure what to do with it. I wiped it down with an oiled paper towel and stuck it in the oven for about a half hour and then wiped the excess oil off in preparation for its first use. Is this correct? Also, what should I use to clean it? We used to stick my moms in the dishwasher and it was fine but I assume that will ruin the seasoning on such a new pan? I've heard soap is fine and others say never to wash it with soap. Whats best?
What is the best way to clean and restore cast iron cookware?
I have some cast iron pieces,13 all together. They have been treated rough and been let get wet while in storage and rusted over, but before they were put in storage they were used and used and not properly cleaned and have a lot of build up underneath the rust and such. They've been passed down from generations and now I have them after all this. I would like to get all that off and clean and restore them so I can use them. What is the best way to clean and restore them then season them. Thank you to all answers in advance.
Can you cook in the ceramic coated cast iron cookware without oil?
I remember seeing cookware that you could use without oil so that it is healthier.... hoping someone can validate this. I know that this type of cookware is expensive, so I want to make sure this is what I am looking for before I sink a fortune into it. Thanks

How to Season Cast Iron Cookware?
I know hardly anybody uses cast iron cookware, but it is my prefered choice when cooking. I first got them when I moved into my apartment and my grandma gave me her old cookware. I need to know how to season them. It seems like everything sticks to the cookware I've had it for a while and the constant sticking is getting annoying.
